pod casting, pod castsPod Casts came about from an Apple vision. That is why it is so weird that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has the ability to offer software that will improve pod casting. Well, Microsoft didin’t exactly create the software, Cynical Peak Software did but they allowed it to integrate with their gaming console. Called Rivet 1.1, which is updated with a patch from the first release, allows Mac users to stream video, music and pictures from their computers and onto their Xbox 360.

Those that have messed with Xbox Live features know that this same idea is possible through Windows Media players for those that use PCs. Rivet 1.1 is free to registered users and will cost 20 bucks for new people.

The 1.1 release also comes with pod casting video support. Make sure that your Mac and Xbox 360 are on the same network and you have iTunes for music sharing. Pod casting is now even possible through a Microsoft product. If streaming a music video, favorite album or vacation pictures on your TV from your Mac sounds cool pick up Rivet 1.1.
