music videoIt's really helpful for music students to create a music video of themselves playing so that they can see where they need to improve their technique to get a better sound from their instrument. They can share the music video with their teachers for a critique of the way that they are practicing. Most music lessons last an hour, so that is plenty of time for the teacher to watch the music video, and help the student correct or improve the music technique that the student is struggling with. Or the student can upload the music video on places that allow free video uploads, like youtube or myspace, and the teacher can watch it whenever they have a free time slot to watch it. It's one thing to have good technique in a lesson, but another completely when practicing at home. And bad practicing techniques add up to bad playing techniques, so being able to use a digital camera or camcorder to record one's practicing and have it analyzed by the teacher is a great advantage, indeed.
