Sharing Pod Casts Can Disguise Natural Shyness |

If you are slightly shy or even somewhat socially inept, it might be a good idea to start collecting pod casts. If you make a collection of pod casts that are interesting, awe inspiring or amusing, you will always have something at hand with which to initiate a conversation or deflect attention away from yourself. I find it difficult to initiate a conversation with somebody who I don’t know very well. I’m no Napoleon Dynamite. I am as confident and gregarious as anybody else once I know a person well. Yet I know what it is to feel shy and awkward around strangers at a gathering. It doesn’t help that I have a British accent that attracts the attention of others the instant I open my mouth. Pod casts give you something to talk about that shifts the attention away from you. By sharing your favorite pod casts you get to avoid answering the embarrassing personal questions that other people tend to love asking. Instead you can talk about music, movies and other forms of media that you enjoy. I find that impersonal topics are usually much easier to talk about. Therefore if you are naturally shy and reserved individual like I am, you can use pod casts as a tool to help you appear more extroverted than you really are.
